Win up to $50 cash AND double the number of Full Tilt Points during Take 2.

Take 2 runs from Tuesday, September 1st to Wednesday, September 30th. By playing at least two ring-game tables at the same time during Take 2, you’ll earn double Full Tilt Points on both tables. Play as often as you can during September and you’ll be rewarded with cash, up to $50.

Get up to $50 in Cash

The more you play during Take 2, the more cash you can earn. Reach four different levels depending on the number of days that you play and you can earn up to $50:

Level 1: Play for 5 days and receive $5

Level 2: Play for 10 days to get $10, for a cumulative total of $15

Level 3: Play for 15 days and take home another $10, a cumulative total of $25

Level 4: Play for 25 days and you’ll earn an additional $25, for a cumulative total of $50

Earn Double Points

When you play two tables on Full Tilt Poker, you get twice the points. During Take 2, we’ll give you a lot more: when you play on two ring-game tables at the same time, we’ll double the number of points you’d normally receive on BOTH tables.

For example, if you earn 60 points at one table and 40 at another, ordinarily you would get 100 points. However, during Take 2, you’ll get 200 points instead of 100. That’s 100 points for your play and 100 bonus points.

You can use your bonus points in the Full Tilt Poker Store to get plasma TVs, iPods, custom Full Tilt Poker jerseys and more, or to enter special Full Tilt Points Sit & Gos and Multi-Table Tournaments.

How to Participate in Take 2

Follow these steps to claim your cash and double points during Take 2:

Log in to Full Tilt Poker

Click on the Cashier button

Select the My Promotions box

Click on the Take 2 box

Follow the instructions on the Take 2 My Promotions page

Return to the game lobby and play at two ring-game tables simultaneously to start earning cash and double Full Tilt Points at each table

Recently on his blog, FullTilt Poker pro Phil Galfond says:

“Poker has been a roller coaster lately. I’ve had 2 very big winning days and 2 very big losing days (see last post for the latest one) all in the last week and a half. It’s half fun, half painful. Luckily (sorta) the wins have come right before the losses, so I never felt like I’d lost a bunch, though ending on a bad note is never fun. Playing around with some variance calculators has made me realize that at the frequency the nosebleeds run, I won’t see the long run for about 5+ years. I wasn’t even planning on playing that long. It’s a little disheartening to know that I have so little control over my month to month results. Maybe disheartening is the wrong word. It makes me feel, I dunno, not in control of things. I feel like there’s probably a good word for that, but I have a bad vocabulary. I think I need to come to terms with the fact that I can’t rely on high stakes poker for my income. My EV is still very good, but I need to have other reasons for playing: the challenge, fun, pride. Playing 50k hands a year of 300/600+ for the money is just setting myself up for dissapointment. Even with a decent edge, I can’t expect to come out a significant winner…”.

And here is Phil Galfond’s chart that show how variance can be nasty at high stakes tables at FullTilt Poker.

Here is some advice from FullTilt Poker Pro Mike McDonald:

Many players new to online poker find multi-tabling – playing more than one table at once – intimidating. While it might seem this way at first, there are several things

that you can do to get the most out of your experience right from the start.

One of the first things to consider is how to arrange your tables. Tiling your tables so that they’re beside each other without overlap lets you see the action at every table at all times. A second option is cascading your tables. This is particularly useful if you have a smaller monitor and are playing lots of tables. Personally, I prefer to tile my tables so that I’ve got a better view of all of the action at once – I find that I time out a bit more and miss out on some good opportunities when I’ve got them cascaded and can’t see everything at once. Try both formats and decide which works best for you.

It’s also important to keep track of how many tables your opponents are playing. If a player is at more than one table, it’s likely that he’s a regular Multi-Table player. This is important because it affects the way your opponents play. Most Multi-Tablers will play fairly straightforward and won’t make elaborate bluffs. When I’m only playing one table, I’m more likely to make an aggressive move than when I’m playing four tables or more.

I’d also recommend that you buy in for the maximum amount on each table and keep it topped up so you can capitalize on the power of a full stack. Generally, I think it’s a good idea to top up when you lose a pot – I like to stay as deep as possible. When I get into a big pot for full stacks, I’ll usually have the best hand and I want to be able to get as much value as I can – I’d rather have a full stack than 90% of a stack so that I get maximum value from that situation.

Keep these things in mind as you start multi-tabling and you’ll find it’s not as intimidating as it initially seemed.
